The Spirit of the Position:

The Regional Claims Manager supports the Regional Vice President by the administration of all vehicle damage and general liability claims based on processes originating from our Home Office and help to meet the defined safety goals throughout their assigned region.

Regional Claims Manager

Principal Job Duties:

Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate reporting of vehicle damage and general liability claims into the Claims Database system, updating as necessary.

  • Contact parties involved in a loss to collect facts, statements, proof of losses and releases from claimants, witnesses and other interested parties to determine liability exposure and assign reserve values to claims.
  • Manage claims process, ensuring timely and cost-effective claims resolution within designated authority level.
  • Daily communication with claimants, management, appraisers, insurance claims representatives, attorneys and preferred vendor body shops and rental car agencies. Timely communication of all at-fault claims to Human Resources.
  • Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports of claims details as directed by the National Safety Manager and Sr. Management.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Requirements:

    Education:

  • Bachelors Degree or 3-4 years of related experience
  • 2+ years experience in claims administration with focus in Commercial Auto or General Liability
  • Strong customer service skills; heightened ability to build and maintain positive relationships and effectively communicate with all interested parties.
  • Strong organizational skills; proven ability to manage multiple tasks through to completion with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a changing environment; must be resourceful and take initiative to prioritize, manage tasks, follow up and ask when unsure.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications
  • Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull and otherwise move objects of at least 10 pounds.
  • Willingness for occasional work in the elements heat, wind, rain, etc.
  • Regularly work on repetitive tasks that use hands, arms and wrists
  • Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects
  • Regularly see details of objects that are less than a few feet away
  • Regularly move from sitting to standing positions effortlessly
  • Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers
  • Occasional ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional ability to bend, stoop, squat and lift throughout a shift.
  • Occasional travel required.
