JOB PURPOSE The Director of Operations has significant accountability, impact and influence to drive results of a significant group of managers and custodial staff to accomplish a high level of quality service and to meet annual operating budget requirements. Ensures budgets, schedules and standards are realistically set and met. On a regular basis interacts and coaches first and second level Operations management on the importance of meeting and exceeding expected customer satisfaction and quality results and building relationships to maximize service levels and promote company growth. Drives improvement by challenging staff to identify opportunity for innovation and improvements. Provides drive and infuses a clear and consistent vision and understanding of company's ethics, mission, philosophy, standards and culture. The position has responsibility for managing significant human and financial resources with a very high degree of autonomy. The Director of Operations may have responsibility for multiple regions or areas. EXPECTATIONS FOR SATISFACTORY JOB PERFORMANCE Reviews and assesses that the operational field staff adheres to company policies and procedures and ensures company practices are administered in a fair and equitable manner Evaluates and ensures the effectiveness of all budgets to include human, financial and physical resources Directs implementation for all new/ongoing operational and employee safety training programs Authorizes and manages approvals of direct reports including but not limited to hiring and replacement of employees, employee documentation, employee counseling, and termination of employment Reviews, evaluates and ensures that all operations management teams are following established inventory procedures to maintain accurate warehouse and job site inventories Reviews, evaluates and ensures that all Operations management teams are following established procedures. Guides, instructs and assists Operations Management with standard process when necessary Directs employee recruitment and development to meet quality service, annual operating budget and contract expectations for all key positions within area of responsibility Keeps Chief Operating Officer/Sr. Director of Operations promptly and fully informed on all issues or matters of significance; takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree or equivalent with focus on operations management; 5+ years of experience in appropriate industry leadership ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Able to read and communicate in English Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials up to 50 pounds Ability to operate small power tools Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time to include climbing/descending stairwells and ladders Can work independently and in stressful environments May have responsibility to enter customer facilities that require background screening. Able to drive between customer locations. Some local area travel using personal vehicle. Approximately 50% of the time and will vary during the month and week.
