Works closely with category Manager on getting and maintaining the samples on strategic product categories identified for transitions. Assist merchandising department with transactional activities where needed. Acts as liaison between Sourcing, Quality assurance team, Buyers, and Category Management as it relates to merchandising activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Based on the guidance from the category Manager needs to co-ordinate with the warehouse in getting the samples and sending them to vendors overseas as needed.

  • Keeping a log of all the samples and organizing them in storage. Sending samples to sales organization and marketing for their reviews.
  • Assist sales and marketing on any transition related questions.
  • Manage the processes flow for new item stocking request to ensure timely completion and maintain documentation.
  • Create and/or maintain documentation on approvals/ charting per manager/dir/vp approvals.
  • Process all merchandising related scripts including price management and market costs.
  • Handle overflow merchandising support within department.
  • Help and work closely with the category manager in making spread sheets and analysis.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in purchasing, merchandising, sales and/or customer service required
  • Experience working within a retail, wholesale or distribution environment preferred
  • Strong Excel skills preferred

Education and / or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree sufficient to successfully perform essential job functions required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1+ years' experience required

  • Strong communicator with excellent relationship-building skills across a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong Organization and time management skills
  • Ability to resolve conflicts quickly, research issues, and follow up with timely communication to all key stake holders
  • Ability to quickly learn understand systems to answer basic inquires without escalating
  • Attention to detail with the ability to knock down obstacles in order to find solution

Lifting of sample boxes and shipping out samples involved. Organizing samples and keeping log requires lifting and moving samples.
