The Director of Financial Aid will also administer federal programs, state grants, and scholarships. - Minimum starting pay for this position is $85,000 - The general responsibilities for this position include: Administering the colleges financial aid programs to maximize student success. Monitoring and regulating student aid expenditures to effectively utilize funds. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies and regulations. Maintaining proper documentation of all awards for audit trail and maintaining fund control records due to limitations on funding levels imposed each yer. filing annual applications for participation and request funding for federal and state financial aid programs. Completing the Fiscal Operations Report and the State Unit Record Report summarizing aid expenditures. Providing leadership in creating a student-centered focus for providing excellent customer service; being an advocate for students. Developing policies and procedures to determine student eligibility and providing for an equitable distribution of student aid dollars. Counseling students and parents regarding typical student expenses, financial aid opportunities, and money management. Supervising, selecting, training, evaluating, and developing Financial Aid staff members. Other relevant duties as assigned. This is an exempt position and your expected work schedule is Monday through Friday. As an exempt employee your schedule may vary based on the number of hours needed to meet the job responsibilities. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning ,evening, and weekends to meet the needs of the department. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience at a supervisory level within a college or university financial aid and student accounts program serving both traditional and adult education students, including financial and leveraging. Broadly-based technical knowledge of financial aid funding mechanisms, regulations, needs analysis methods, and aid packaging techniques. Extensive computer knowledge using Windows-based programs. Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage simultaneous priorities under pressure; Strong leadership, counseling/advising, and interpersonal qualities; Strong project and financial management skills. All UTPB employees must be able to pass a criminal background check. Preferred Qualifications Masters Degree Knowledge of PeopleSoft software.
